Physicians who are certified by the COUNCIL FOR MEDICAL EDUCATION AND TESTING (CMET) join APWH as Fellows-Certified in wound care (FAPWHc). The CMET exam is offered online and may be taken in the convenience of your home, office or similar setting. In addition, it is offered at at the APWH Annual Conference.
The Council for Medical Education and Testing (CMET) is a non-profit organization providing the only physician specific certification in wound healing fully produced and administered by a physician specific organization and available to all prescribing physicians (MD, DPM, DO). The exam is Beta-tested, peer reviewed and now in its 10th year has demonstrated proven viability and withstood the test of time. By numbers alone it is de facto the largest and most widely accepted certification of its kind in the United States today. CMET is the physician’s choice for wound healing certification.
CMET certification advances wound care to a new level. It brings us one step closer to the goal of specialty recognition. The next challenge will be the initiation of residencies and fellowships which are commensurate with the evolution of knowledge and practice. This examination is available to all prescribing physicians (MD, DO, DPM).
Newly Practicing Podiatrists can sit for CMET Physician Certification in Wound Healing immediately after completing a 3 year residency. This is due to the national standards requirements built into the CPME approved 3 year residency and the competency examinations related to the successful completion of this training program.
ALL 2019 PODIATRY RESIDENCY GRADUATES CAN BE CERTIFIED IN WOUND HEALING AT A REDUCED RATE THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2019.
Easy preparation is offered online through our affiliate organization, the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing (APWH). The online Review and Refresher Course is user-friendly, with the ability to stop and resume lectures at any point.
