Cross Referral -A Membership Benefit

Cross-referral of patients from one specialist to the next is a very good method for providing the best care for patients by maximizing the knowledge of the specialists involved.

APWH provides a wonderful opportunity for members to cross-refer other member specialists so their patients can receive the best care from providers specializing in the area of medical chief concern.

Simultaneously it provides an opportunity for practitioners in private practice to demonstrate their knowledge and skills to the colleagues they refer to and to the general medical community. The practitioners to whom they refer will usually refer back to them as well.

The principle of triaged multispecialty, in wound healing is common practice. This is demonstrated by the fact that many wound healing centers have monthly grand rounds to review difficult cases with multiple specialists involved.

APWH provides members with a great avenue to increase physician contacts, refer patients as needed, and have the benefit of receiving referrals from other providers who learn about your skills, knowledge, and interest in providing the best quality care.
