2024 Year in Review: Achievements of Dr. Steven Kravitz, DPM, FAPWHc
Dr. Steven Kravitz, President of APWH, made significant extensive leadership contributions and played a vital role in advancing the field of podiatric medicine and promoting the mission of the Academy.
His 2024 accomplishments include:
Lectures and Conferences: Dr. Kravitz presented at numerous conferences in the U.S. and internationally. Notable engagements include the Academy of Continuing Podiatric Medical Education and the American College of Lower Extremity Surgeons, as well as being an invited speaker for the Taiwan Wound Healing Society and the International Wound Care Conference in Dubai.
Publications: He authored several impactful articles, including a notable piece back in the September 2023 Journal of Wound Care on utilizing cations and advanced polymers to tackle wound biofilms, co-authored with Rochelle Greenberg and Darlene McCord, PhD.
Editorial Roles: Dr. Kravitz served as a guest editor for the “Journal of Wound Care North American Edition” and contributed multiple articles to it, with a special editorial in December 2024 discussing APWH's activities.
Consultancy: As a consultant for McCord Research, he has advocated for the use of positive ions to combat biofilms and advance healing in chronic wounds.
Professional Organizations: He founded and continues to be the President for APWH and the Council for Medical Education and Testing,
Teaching: Since 1981, Dr. Kravitz has taught at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, influencing the education of countless students and residents, and recently submitted research for publication that focuses on positive ions and wound healing.
