Submission Overview
1. All Oral and Poster abstract application submissions are due on October 16, 2016.
2. Applicants, when submitting an application, must indicate either poster or oral type of abstract on the application.
3. Applicants may submit multiple abstracts for both poster exhibit and oral abstract presentations.
4. All abstract applications must be submitted by email to info@apwh.org or mail to the following address:

Abstract Guidelines
Adherence to the following requirements:
1. All abbreviations must be defined at the first time they are used.
2. Any presentations that constitute promotion and/or advertising will not be accepted including inappropriate or pervasive use of logos and product. Nor will company product information or dissemination in conjunction with the oral or poster presentation be allowed.
3. Any financial arrangements or assistance that you have received from a corporation or institution, such as the underwriting of a cost of a presentation must be disclosed on the application in the applicable area.
4. All abstract proposals must include the following:
▪ Abstract title
▪ Author(s); presenter’s name to be listed first
▪ The abstract must be limited to 250 words.
▪ Abstract submissions should include the following information:
▪     Goal and objective
▪     Purpose or rationale
▪     Methodology
▪     Discussion or conclusion
5. NOTE: Oral and Poster presenters must register for the conference.
6. Hotel and travel arrangements are the responsibility of the presenters.
7. Oral or poster presentations previously presented or published are eligible for submission providing previous publication or submission is noted upon submission.
8. Each individual may submit more than one abstract regardless of designation as
author or co-author. The first or primary author can be selected to present, at
most, one oral presentation. No limit applies to the number of poster abstracts
that can be submitted by an author or co-author.

Review Process
The following criteria will be used to review each abstract.
1. Are objective(s), materials, and methods clearly stated?
2. Are study details or graphs described so that the sequence and/or treatment are
clear and relevant to the audience?
3. Do findings support the objective(s) and are clearly stated?
4. Are objective(s), materials, and methods of importance to target audience?
5. Is the poster being presented current and of interest to attendees?

Poster Exhibits / Oral Presentations Information
1. Notification of poster set-up time and tearing down of posters will be provided in the primary authors acceptance letter.
2. A dedicated poster session will be scheduled during the conference for attendees to meet and talk with the author or co-authors of their posters in the primary authors acceptance letter.
3. Each poster presenter will be provided with a poster board that is 8 feet in width and 4 feet in height, by the Academy. Presenters must bring their own pushpins with only pushup pins to be used on posters. APWH will not provide pushpins.
Oral Presentations at APWH 2015
1. Presenters of Oral abstracts are expected to attend the entire oral abstract session. Time and date of oral session will be provided to the primary author at the time of the acceptance letter.
2. Oral abstract presentations will consist of a 10 minute lecture followed by a 5 minute question and answer session.
3. Oral presenters must be in the scheduled room at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the oral abstract session to load their presentation on the computer.
4. Presenters are encouraged to remain during the entire session to afford attendees ample opportunity to ask questions.
